17 persons including couple with their three children perish in Abule Ado explosion, 50 houses destroyed

An explosion in the Abule Ado area of Lagos state has resulted in the tragic death of 17 individuals, including a couple and their three children, as well as the destruction of 50 houses. The incident occurred in the early hours of Sunday, March 15th.

The Director General/CEO of LASEMA, Dr. Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu, confirmed the number of casualties and stated that the cause of the explosion is still unknown. He also mentioned that 25 injured individuals are currently receiving treatment at the site.

The explosion affected over 50 buildings in the area and neighboring communities, resulting in widespread devastation. Oke-Osanyintolu extended sympathies to the families of the deceased and urged residents to refrain from spreading false information, as the operation and investigation are still ongoing.
