Warning from Primate Ayodele: Northern Opposition to Tinubu’s Second Term

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has been cautioned by the Leader of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Primate Elijah Ayodele, to carefully navigate his relationship with the Northern region as they are unlikely to support his bid for a second term.

Primate Ayodele predicted a series of alliances forming against President Tinubu in the North, with some of his close associates turning against him.

In a statement released by his media aide, Oluwatosin Osho, Ayodele mentioned that leaders in the Northern zone would collaborate to undermine Tinubu’s efforts.

According to the Primate, “Tinubu will face numerous challenges in the run-up to 2027 as the Northern factions unite against him. Even individuals close to Tinubu will betray him.”

He revealed a strained relationship between the president and his Vice, Kashim Shettima, attributing it to escalating issues within the Northern region.

Primate Ayodele forewarned of significant political obstacles and tensions arising during the current administration’s quest for a second term.

“Shettima and Tinubu will have a frosty relationship due to mounting issues in the North. The Northern forces will oppose Shettima, paving the way for his challengers,” he elaborated.

Furthermore, the Primate emphasized that the Northern region would continue to grapple with insecurity, lacking infrastructure, and educational deficiencies until at least 2030.

Regarding the development prospects in the North, he remarked, “The absence of a strategic plan is glaring, as the region will remain plagued by insecurity, poor infrastructure, and educational shortcomings.”

Concluding his statement, Primate Ayodele cautioned Tinubu to remain vigilant and anticipate opposition from Northerners, urging for caution to prevent potential Yoruba-Fulani-Kanuri conflicts in the nation.

“The North’s developmental agenda has been obstructed by internal resistance,” he reiterated. “The region will persist in facing challenges related to security, infrastructure, education, and internal divisions.”
