Two Robbery Suspects Arrested in Lagos, Three Guns Recovered

In Lagos, the police have apprehended two robbery suspects – Ademola Adeniyi, 38, and Anjorin Afeez, 41, and seized three locally-made pistols.

The arrest was confirmed by Mr. Benjamin Hundeyin, the spokesman for the Lagos State Police Command, in a post shared on Monday.

He disclosed that the suspects were nabbed by the Rapid Response Squad (RRS) on Sunday around 10:00 pm in the Yaba area.

“During a routine patrol in the area, the operatives intercepted a Lagos-color mini-bus, popularly referred to as ‘Korope,’ bound for Ketu/Ojota,” Hundeyin explained.

Upon searching the vehicle, they found three locally-made pistols and six cartridges.

Initial investigations suggest that the gang members boarded the bus at Jeba Bus Stop, Ebute Metta, and were en route to carry out a robbery operation.

The suspects are currently cooperating with the police in the ongoing inquiry.
