Two Alleged Robbers Apprehended by Police in Lagos

In an incident at a hotel in the Alagbado area of Lagos, the Lagos State Police Command has taken into custody two suspects believed to be involved in a robbery.

Confirmation of the arrest was made to reporters by the command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, during a statement on Tuesday.

Operatives from the Agbado Police Division, while on patrol in the early hours of Monday as per directives from the Area P Commander, responded to a distress call concerning a robbery in progress.

Reports from the distress call indicated that a robbery was underway at a hotel in the Alagbado area.

The law enforcement officers swiftly proceeded to confront the criminals at the scene.

Following the operation, two individuals suspected of robbery were apprehended, with the rest managing to flee. The recovered items included four locally-designed firearms, a Toyota Corolla, a Toyota Camry, five live rounds, and four expended cartridges.

Additional seized items comprised two Nokia phones, an Itel phone, a Tecno phone, a jackknife, six ATM cards, three wristwatches, three handbags, and a sum of N50,000 in cash.

“The estimated nine suspects involved in the robbery had harmed two guests at the hotel prior to the arrival of the authorities,” Hundeyin remarked.

A preliminary inquiry unveiled that the alleged culprits, numbering nine, had traveled from the Agbara area to create havoc.

Hundeyin informed that the wounded victims had been admitted to a medical facility for treatment.

He also mentioned ongoing efforts to capture the other members connected to the crime.
