The Puerto Rican singer, Bad Bunny, made history this morning by becoming the first Spanish-speaking performer to star in the half-time show of the Super Bowl final, which the Seattle Seahawks won.
Donald Trump: “It’s a slap in the face to our country”
The performance, as could be expected from his previous statements, has not been to the taste of the president of the United States, who has described it as “one of the worst in history.”
Nobody understands a word this guy says.
As he has written on his social networks, Bad Bunny’s show “is an affront to the greatness of the United States and does not represent our standards of success, creativity or excellence.” He added that “no one understands a word this guy says, and the dancing is disgusting, especially to the little kids who watch it all over the United States and the rest of the world.”
At the same time, the Turning Point movement (founded by Charlie Kirk) counterprogrammed Bad Bunny with an ‘All-American Halftime Show’ featuring several country music performances.
Trump has said that the renowned Puerto Rican artist’s performance “will get rave reviews from the fake media,” but it will be “because they have no idea what’s happening in the real world.”
Bad Bunny has been a great detractor of the Trump Administration’s immigration offensive, and last year he decided not to take his tour ‘I Should Shoot More Photos World Tour’ to the US to avoid raids.
More recently, at the Grammy Awards he said: “We are not savages, we are not animals, we are human and we are Americans,” before adding “ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement) out.”
Bad Bunny’s performance
The Puerto Rican singer transformed the stage into a vindication of Latin America, with a staging full of references to Puerto Rico.
