Trump assures that in the US he will recognize two genders: transsexuals will not be able to serve in the army

President Donald Trump signed a series of executive orders this Monday in which he proclaims that the United States government will recognize only two sexes, male and female, eliminating diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) programs.

Senior White House officials explained that these measures are part of the Trump administration’s agenda to “restore sanity” in the government.

Exclusive recognition of biological sexes

The executive order states that women’s rights will be “defended and freedom of conscience protected through the use of clear and precise language that recognizes that women are biologically feminine and men are biologically masculine.”

Federal agencies must use the term “sex” instead of “gender,” and the State Department and the Department of Homeland Security must ensure that official documents, such as passports and global entry cards, reflect the biological sex of the holders.

The official document states that “ideologists who deny the biological reality of sex have used legal and coercive means to allow men to identify as women and access women-only spaces, such as domestic abuse shelters and workplace showers. “. The Trump administration considers this practice “wrong” and an attack on the dignity and safety of women.

The order also prohibits the use of federal funds for health care related to gender transition and states that intimate spaces, such as jails and rape shelters, must be designated according to biological sex.

Impact on the transgender community

One of the most controversial aspects of the executive order is the elimination of the possibility of transgender people serving in the US military, a measure that reverses inclusive policies implemented by the Biden administration.

LGBTQ rights advocates have expressed concern and announced possible legal action against the executive order. Additionally, transgender people with federal IDs containing the gender-neutral “X” marking could face difficulties leaving and returning to the country. Caution is advised for those traveling outside the United States, as they may be detained by border agents until they obtain a new identification.

Elimination of diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) policies

The second executive order signed by Trump eliminates all DEI-related initiatives, offices and grants within the federal government within 60 days. The administration argues that these policies are “discriminatory” and that they seek to impose race and gender criteria in public and private life.

In his inaugural address, Trump emphasized his commitment to a “colorblind, merit-based” society. The order provides for monthly meetings with senior officials to evaluate the social and economic impact of DEI policies.

Opponents of the executive orders, including civil rights advocates and LGBTQ organizations, plan to challenge the measures in court. However, legal experts suggest that the government could implement certain changes immediately, such as relocating transgender people to prisons based on their biological sex. Other changes, such as those related to health care and housing, could take months or even years to complete due to required legal procedures.
