Trump announces three-day ceasefire between Russia and Ukraine

The President of the United States, Donald Trump, announced this Friday a three-day ceasefire between Russia and Ukraine, May 9, 10 and 11, on the occasion of Victory Day. His counterparts, Vladimir Putin and Volodimir Zelensky, have accepted this proposal.

On the American president’s social networks, he explained that “This ceasefire will include the suspension of all military activity and an exchange of 1,000 prisoners from each country. This request was made directly by me and I greatly appreciate its acceptance by President Vladimir Putin and President Volodimir Zelensky.”

The Republican magnate, with this measure, has expressed his wish that it be the “beginning of the end of a very long, bloody and hard-fought war”, “the largest since the Second World War.” An agreement that, as he explained, includes the exchange of prisoners between both parties.
