Tragic Incident: 6-year-old Boy Killed by Kidnappers Demanding Ransom

Following a heartbreaking incident in Adamawa State, two men have been apprehended for their involvement in the kidnapping and subsequent killing of a young boy. Shockingly, the suspects even went as far as demanding ransom from the victim’s family while taking so-called “feeding fees.”

Revealed by the Adamawa State Police, the suspects swiftly collected money for the child’s upkeep and then proceeded to demand a hefty N10 million ransom for his release. The police statement, signed by spokesperson Suleiman Nguroje, detailed the events that transpired on May 5, 08/05/2024, when kidnappers broke into Edwin Eze’s home in Tudun Wada, Ganye LGA, and abducted his 6-year-old son, Eboka Edwin.

The distraught father reported the incident, stating that the abductors contacted him via phone and insisted on the ransom payment. Additionally, they had already taken N152,000 as feeding expenses for the victim. Promptly acting on the report, the Commissioner of Police, CP Dankombo Morris, deployed a team led by SP Mohammed Yahaya Nuhu to rescue the boy.

Consequently, the team sprang into action and captured two suspects, Muktar Mohammed and Hussein Suleiman, from Bashin Village, Yoro Local Government Area in Taraba State. Both aged 20, the suspects admitted to conspiring and executing the abduction, leading to the tragic death of the young boy in a forest near the Nigeria-Cameroon border.

Despicably, they confessed to fatally injuring the child with a knife, burying him in a shallow grave, and unscrupulously demanding ransom money even after his demise.

Furthermore, the police recovered three phones from the perpetrators and expressed their condolences to the grieving family. The State Police Commissioner reiterated the department’s unwavering dedication to eradicating all criminal activities.
