Tragedy Strikes at AAU as Two Lives Lost in Edo State Cult Clash

In a recent incident at Edo State University, AAU, Ekpoma, two students have tragically lost their lives in a clash between rival cult groups.

Reports indicate that one of the victims was an official of the Students’ Union Government at the university.

The unfortunate events unfolded last Friday, with the SU Government official identified as a 400-Level student in the Faculty of Agriculture.

Tragically, he was fatally shot at the poultry road extension in Ekpoma.

Just within 48 hours prior, a student named Eddy had been severely beaten after being accused of using a “fake bank alert” for purchases by a group of individuals.

Regrettably, the misunderstanding surrounding Eddy’s assault was misconstrued as an attack by rival cult factions, leading to his untimely demise.

This misinterpretation of events reportedly sparked retaliation from a rival cult group, resulting in the deaths of the two students on Friday.

On contacting the Public Relations Officer of the Edo State Police Command, SP Chidi Nwabuzor, he confirmed the killings and mentioned that investigations are currently underway, with some suspects already in custody.
