Time magazine chooses Donald Trump 'Person of the Year 2024'

Time magazine has chosen Donald Trump as ‘Person of the Year 2024’, as reported by the media itself on the social network X.

This is the second time Trump has been elected. as person of the year. The president-elect of the United States, winner of the elections on November 5, was also ‘Person of the Year 2016’, the year in which he also won the presidential elections by beating Hillary Clinton.

‘Person of the Year’ is an annual Time magazine supplement that highlights the life of the person who, for better or worse, has had the greatest influence during the year.

It is not common for a person to be recognized on more than one occasion with this recognition, but it is true that those elected are American presidents: on up to 13 occasions a president of the United States has received it.

As Sam Jacobs, editor-in-chief of Time, explained on the

Trump’s criticism of TIME magazine

Although before being chosen in 2016 as Person of the Year, Trump had criticized this list as “a joke and publicity stunt for a soon-to-be-dead magazine,” his opinion changed after being elected that year: “This means a lot to someone who, like me, grew up reading Time: it’s a very important magazine.”
