Thierry Henry blames two Arsenal players for loss to Bayern Munich

In the UEFA Champions League quarter-final second leg, Arsenal’s defeat against Bayern Munich has led Arsenal legend Thierry Henry to criticize two key players. According to Henry, both Gabriel Martinelli and Takehiro Tomiyasu played crucial roles in the deciding goal.

Reflecting on Arsenal’s overall performance, Henry expressed disappointment, stating that it simply wasn’t up to par.

Bayern Munich secured their spot in the semi-finals with a 1-0 victory over Mikel Arteta’s team at the Allianz Arena. The aggregate scoreline of 3-2 favored Bayern Munich, following a 2-2 draw in the first leg at Emirates Stadium.

Henry provided his analysis during an interview with CBS Sports, commenting, “Today’s performance was below expectations. Although the game was closely contested, neither team displayed a strong desire to push forward.”

Regarding the error that led to the decisive goal, Henry pointed out mistakes made by both Martinelli and Tomiyasu. He highlighted Tomiyasu’s failure to provide adequate cover for his fellow defenders during the crucial play.

In a more optimistic note, Henry expressed hope for Arsenal’s future success in the Champions League, despite acknowledging the challenges of the current fixture schedule. “While I always support Arsenal, I must admit that competing in multiple matches per week poses significant challenges for the team,” Henry remarked.
