Trump calls local authorities “incompetent”

This Sunday, the president-elect of the United States, Donald Trump, criticized this Sunday the “incompetence” from local authorities during containment efforts.

“The fires continue to destroy Los Angeles. Incompetent politicians still don’t know how to turn them off. “Thousands of magnificent homes have disappeared and many more are about to disappear,” Trump criticized on his social network Truth Social.

The president-elect is a declared political enemy of the governor of California, Gavin Newsom, one of the leading exponents of the opposition Democratic Party. Newsom has implored Trump to take a break from their rivalry to go to the state to examine first-hand the consequences of the fires but the president-elect has not yet responded to his request, according to the governor himself.

Trump has not mentioned this invitation in his message this Sunday, where he insisted that the fires, particularly those in Palisades and Eaton, have become “one of the worst catastrophes in the history” of the country.
