The Generous Donation of 80,000 Bags of Rice to Lagos by Dangote Foundation

In a remarkable demonstration of philanthropy, the Aliko Dangote Foundation has contributed 80,000 bags of 10kg rice to offer assistance to vulnerable communities in Lagos State.

Breaking this news was the Special Adviser on New Media to the Lagos State Governor, Jubril Gawat, who made the announcement via his X handle on the midweek.

The revelation came during a well-attended event at the esteemed Lagos House in Ikeja earlier the same day as conveyed by Gawat.

Present at the event were Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu; Aliko Dangote, the renowned founder and chairman of Dangote Group; and Femi Otedola, Chairman of First Bank of Nigeria Holdings Plc.

In his caption, Gawat shared, “Seen at the Banquet Hall, Lagos House, Ikeja were the Governor of Lagos State, Mr #jidesanwoolu; the esteemed Aliko Dangote #AlikoDangote, and Mr Femi Otedola #realFemiOtedola, Chairman of First Bank of Nigeria Holdings Plc, for the commencement of the rice distribution program through the Aliko Dangote Foundation #AlikoDangoteFdn.

“The commendable initiative involves the distribution of 80,000 bags of 10 kg rice to vulnerable communities all across the state.”

In a report by PUNCH earlier in the week, it was highlighted that Dangote’s philanthropic efforts have extended to approximately N15bn through food intervention programs benefiting citizens across Nigeria.

Initiated in Kano State last weekend, the food intervention program by his foundation aims to distribute over one million bags of 10kg rice to the 774 local government areas spanning the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
