The EFCC urges hoteliers and journalists to support our fight against corruption

Mr. Ola Olukoyede, the Executive Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), emphasized the importance of vigilance from Nigerian journalists, hotel owners, and bank compliance officers in the battle against corruption.

During a visit to the Nigeria Union of Journalist’s secretariat, Olukoyede, represented by Acting Zonal Director ACE I Effa I. Okim, underlined the significant role of the media in combating graft.

Appreciating the media’s role in combating corruption and financial crimes through public education and agenda-setting, Olukoyede urged for continued cooperation and collaboration.

He stressed, “It’s time to unite in the fight against corruption. Let’s intensify our coverage of corruption that has infiltrated every aspect of society.”

Addressing the Hotel Owners Association executives in Edo and Delta State, Olukoyede advised them to prevent their hotels from harboring cybercriminals and other illicit elements.

Additionally, he called on bank compliance officers to strictly adhere to ethical banking practices and regulations in their daily tasks.
