The Confirmation of a New Commissioner by Kogi Assembly

A new commissioner, Acharu Okpanachi, has been officially confirmed by the Kogi State House of Assembly. This confirmation took place during the plenary session on Wednesday. Okpanachi smoothly passed her screening session as she was graciously allowed to “take a bow and go” by the lawmakers.

Hailing from Idah Local Government Area of the State, Okpanachi assumes her new role with deep-rooted connections to her community.

Simultaneously, the Kogi State House of Assembly has progressed two bills to their first readings: the Kogi State Multi-door Court House and other related matters Bill of 2024, and the Kogi State HIV and AIDS-based discrimination Bill to protect the rights and dignity of those affected by HIV.

The House session was adjourned to reconvene on the 30th of April 2024.
