A tragic discovery was made as the corpse of Mrs. Idenyi Ebere Ukamaka was found in a gutter shortly after attending a morning prayer at St. Theresa’s Catholic Cathedral in Abakaliki, the capital of Ebonyi State. Shortly after leaving her 11-day-old baby to attend the morning prayer, some body parts of the 35-year-old nursing mother were found burnt to ashes in the gutter at the back of Enugu North motor park along Afikpo Road. Nigerian man accused of killing his father over cooked yam in Ebonyi

A man identified as Chibueze Iduma has been arrested by the Ebonyi State Police Command for allegedly killing his father during a quarrel over cooked yam. The deceased, Mr Emmanuel Oba Iduma, was allegedly killed by his son who was infuriated upon returning home and discovering that his dad had eaten a yam he cooked for himself.
