Tragic Discovery: Nursing Mother’s Body Found in Gutter after Early Morning Church Prayer

A tragic discovery was made as the corpse of Mrs. Idenyi Ebere Ukamaka was found in a gutter shortly after attending a morning prayer at St. Theresa’s Catholic Cathedral in Abakaliki, the capital of Ebonyi State. Shortly after leaving her 11-day-old baby to attend the morning prayer, some body parts of the 35-year-old nursing mother were found burnt to ashes in the gutter at the back of Enugu North motor park along Afikpo Road. After leaving her home on January 12 and failing to return, a search was conducted on the streets following a complaint by her husband, Idenyi Festus, at the police station, but she was not found. Residents of Agility community at Mile 12 area of Lagos State have accused the parents of 18-year-old Amaka Nweke of beating their daughter to death due to her relationship with a Yoruba boy. Nigerian man accused of killing his father over cooked yam in Ebonyi

A man identified as Chibueze Iduma has been arrested by the Ebonyi State Police Command for allegedly killing his father during a quarrel over cooked yam. The deceased, Mr Emmanuel Oba Iduma, was allegedly killed by his son who was infuriated upon returning home and discovering that his dad had eaten a yam he cooked for himself. An eyewitness shared, “While they quarreled over the cooked yam, the father had hit the son with his walking stick, and in retaliation, the son hit him back, causing him to fall down and die.” Chibueze was arraigned before a Magistrate’s Court in Abakiliki over the incident which occurred in Amaofia Ngbo community, in the Ohaukwu Local Government Area of Ebonyi State, on December 20, 2019, and was charged with murder.
