The arrested herdsman confessed to raping a 54-year-old woman to death in Ebonyi state. The 20-year-old, Laolu Isa, admitted to committing the heinous act under the influence of alcohol. The incident occurred in Ufuezeraku, Ugwulangwu in Ohaozara local government area on Saturday, December 28th.
Laolu Isa confessed to his actions, stating that he was heavily intoxicated and encountered the woman at night. According to him, the woman insulted him, leading to a confrontation that resulted in him overpowering and raping her. Additionally, he expressed deep remorse and a desire for forgiveness, stating that he had never committed such an act before.
The state Commissioner of Police, Awotunde Awosola, noted that Isa would be charged to court soon. He also mentioned that the joint efforts of Fulani herdsmen led to the arrest of Isa, who fled the scene, leaving some of his belongings behind.
