Supporting Security: Ebonyi State Government provides operational vehicles to police and army

A total of 10 Hilux vehicles have been given by the Ebonyi State Government to the Nigerian Army and Nigeria Police for carrying out joint security operations in the state.

The distribution ceremony of the vehicles took place in Abakaliki, with Governor Francis Nwifuru being represented by the Deputy Governor, Mrs. Patricia Obila.

The main objective behind this initiative, according to Governor Nwifuru, is to enhance the efficiency of joint security operations in response to the security challenges facing the state.

The joint security outfit has been named “Ijeoma,” which translates to safe journey. The Governor emphasized the importance of feeling secure in the state, stating, “Ebonyi State is a place where you can rest with peace of mind. In our recent security meeting, I pledged to provide the necessary support to combat insecurity in the state.”

He further added, “Establishing a joint security task force was crucial to eradicate any threats to the peace and security of the state. I call upon all security agencies to give their utmost effort as security concerns every individual, and the government is fully dedicated to ensuring peace and security in the state.”

Expressing appreciation, the Commander of Nkwagu Military Cantonment, Lt. Col. A. A. Bako, commended the state government for its timely donation, promising full cooperation in maintaining peace and security.

Similarly, the Ebonyi State Commissioner of Police, Mrs. Augustina Ogbodo, lauded the government for its generous gesture towards supporting the security forces.
