Successful Operation: Troops Eliminate 12 Terrorists and Dismantle Camp in Zamfara

On Monday, the Nigerian Army’s troops carried out a targeted clearance operation in Zamfara State, resulting in the elimination of twelve terrorists and the destruction of their camps.

Maj. Gen. Onyema Nwachukwu, the Army’s Director of Public Relations, stated in a report on Tuesday that the operation was based on credible intelligence regarding the terrorists’ activities. The troops specifically targeted the suspected operational base of the terrorists in Maru town.

Engaging in a fierce gun battle, the brave troops successfully neutralized 12 terrorists, forcing the remaining to flee the scene. Subsequently, the troops destroyed the terrorists’ base after dislodging them.

Among the weapons recovered were an AK-47 rifle, a magazine, 12 rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition, and two locally manufactured guns. Additionally, ten motorcycles and 18 rustled cows were seized during the operation.

Nwachukwu emphasized the Nigerian Army’s unwavering dedication to combat terrorism and insurgency. He assured that the Army will continue to prioritize the safety and security of the citizens, taking decisive actions to curb terrorist activities, especially in the North-West region.
