Statement by Peter Obi on Government Agencies’ Actions

In a recent revelation, Mr. Peter Obi, former presidential candidate of the Labour Party, LP, has brought to light that certain government agencies are resorting to name-calling and even arranging town hall meetings concerning his affairs.

Despite this, Obi remains unfazed, pointing out that the extent of scrutiny and challenges he faces on a daily basis would surprise many.

During an interaction in Canada, the former Anambra State governor reflected on the Nigerian general election, expressing, “The continuous ordeal I experience daily would probably raise questions about my persistence in this field. Yet, I persevere. Government bodies consistently engage in derogatory remarks directed towards me, even outside election periods, going as far as orchestrating dedicated town hall gatherings. But that’s no issue. Let’s stay committed to our cause. Our past achievements speak for themselves, and we should maintain that momentum.”

According to NewsNow, Obi’s visit to Canada was part of a “thank you” initiative aimed at expressing gratitude to the Nigerian community in the country for their support during the 2023 campaign and general elections.
