Simi Expresses Love for Adekunle Gold on Their 1st Wedding Anniversary

Today, January 13th, marks the 1st wedding anniversary of singers Simi and Adekunle Gold. Simi, referring to him as “Pretty Baby,” expressed her gratitude to Adekunle Gold for being a wonderful husband.

Below is her heartfelt anniversary post shared on her Instagram page:

“Pretty baby. The depth of what you mean to me, I doubt you’ll ever fully fathom. I prefer to keep our most cherished moments private, as they are ours alone; hence, people might never comprehend the level of your uniqueness. It’s a level that surpasses others. No one is more in sync with me than you.

“I appreciate your attentiveness to me. Perfection eludes us, not even with your Ikotun background – but I adore your deliberate desire for self-improvement. You’d watch something in a movie and ask me at 2am how you can become a better man for me. Lol. You’re such a charming man.

“Before our vows, 95% of the advice I received was to ‘Endure.’ I was baffled as I’ve never been able to relate. Endure? For eternity? Until your last breath? Ridiculous. Thank you for never being someone I’ve had to endure.

“I’m not fond of when people label us as ‘couple goals’ – because as far as I’m concerned, our journey, i.e. yours and mine, is personal. Our highs and lows (may God never allow us to experience lows), our progress, our unlearning and learning, our Love (aww) form our story. Each person’s benchmark should be their best self. Thank you for being someone who inspires me to become my best self.

“Moruf, thank you for Year One. They said it’s normally hard. Again, I can’t relate because I loved it. I love you. I pray year two is even better by God’s infinite mercy and grace and love. I thank God for standing by us and granting us wisdom. And I appreciate you for being a man worth loving.

“My beautiful dreamboat. My fellow feminist boyfriend. My husband. Ife mi. Onitemi. The love of my life. I will continue to look out for your interests in the hollow of a carton to all the forevers we will spend together.

“PS: Year two is a sentence or two. I know what I’m doing.”

“PPS: Everyone, please, if you get a chance today, say a prayer for us. I cherish those.”
