Significant Seizure: 6,240 Pieces of Dynamite Intercepted in Kebbi by Customs

The Nigeria Customs Service’s Kebbi Area Command made a significant interception of approximately 6,240 cap-sensitive dynamite explosives along the Yauri-Jega road.

On Thursday, the Area Comptroller of Customs, Iheanacho Ojike, revealed this development during the handover of the explosives to officials from the Department of State Services (DSS) in Kebbi state.

During an intelligence-based patrol along the Yauri-Rega road, a joint border patrol team consisting of Customs, Army, police, Immigration, and DSS personnel intercepted the dynamites, as disclosed by Ojike.

It was determined through a joint examination that the items, found in 40 cartons and sacks, comprised 6,240 pieces of cap-sensitive dynamite explosives (super power 90).

The handover of the explosives to the DSS was carried out by the comptroller to promote inter-agency collaboration and facilitate further investigation.

Deputy Director Anthony Oduwalu, on behalf of the state Director of DSS, received the explosives, lauded the Customs for their efforts, and pledged to uphold the ongoing interagency cooperation.
