Series of arrests made by Osun Police for a range of offenses

In Osun State, a total of 18 individuals have been apprehended by the Police Command for a variety of offenses.

On Friday at the Command headquarters in Osogbo, the Command showcased its achievements by presenting the suspects to the public.

The Command’s Public Relations Officer, Yemisi Opalola, speaking to journalists, disclosed that the suspects had been arrested on charges including murder, theft, fraud, conspiracy, and illegal possession of firearms and ammunition.

According to Opalola, some others had been detained for their involvement in armed robbery.

Among those arrested for murder are individuals such as “Onifade Oyebanji, aged 30, Oyebode Olalekan, aged 40, Ifayemi Ojeleke, aged 33, Jamiu Lasisi, aged 40, and Aminat Abiola, aged 27.”

A 24-year-old named Akeem Arole Adeniyi was apprehended for theft and fraud.

“Adekunle Faronbu, aged 42, and Sunday Afolabi, aged 54, were arrested for conspiracy and illegal possession of firearms.

“Liadi Afeez, aged 23, Hammed Rasheed, aged 24, Musibau Nurudeen, aged 23, Adejoju Abdullahi, aged 18, and AbdulRaham (deceased) were detained for conspiracy and armed robbery.

“Odedoju Lukman, a 65-year-old, is under arrest for the alleged murder of his 100-year-old mother.”

Additional arrests include “Adekunle Bright, aged 37, Adekunle Akingbade, aged 34, Hammed Musa, aged 18, and Ganiyu Sodiq, aged 28, apprehended for theft.”

Opalola mentioned that items recovered from the suspects comprise of 120 liters of diesel, a sharp knife, a locally produced barrel gun, four spent cartridges, a black/brown school bag, a saw blade, cable wires, a handmade pistol with a cartridge, and a single bare gun with 3 cartridges.

Additionally, there were “various SIM cards, POS machines, assorted phone packaging, substances suspected to be charred human remains, two machetes, a large black clay pot, black soap, and an ash-colored Toyota Camry Pencil vehicle with registration number, LSD 544 CE.”

She stated that after the investigation is completed, all suspects will be prosecuted in court and urged the public to provide timely and credible information/reports to the Police.

“If you notice any suspicious activities or individuals around you, report them. Individuals should refrain from using unregistered vehicles or vehicles with covered number plates.”
