Reports suggest that Barcelona may launch a bid to acquire the services of Carney Chukwuemeka from Chelsea during the upcoming transfer window.
Barcelona had previously shown interest in the player back in the summer of 2022, prior to his transfer to Stamford Bridge.
Chukwuemeka, who represents England at the U21 level, has struggled to secure a regular spot in Mauricio Pochettino’s squad, featuring in only nine Premier League matches this season.
According to Talksport, the Spanish powerhouse is looking to take advantage of his limited playing time to entice him to make the switch from Stamford Bridge to Catalonia at the conclusion of the current season.
Xavi’s team boasts a packed midfield with players like Pedri, Frenkie de Jong, Gavi, Oriol Romeu, Fermín López, and İlkay Gündoğan. This suggests that Chukwuemeka, who is also eligible to play for Nigeria at the senior level, would face tough competition to earn a spot in the starting lineup if he decides to join.
It remains uncertain whether Chelsea would be open to selling him in order to generate funds for bolstering the squad, especially in the attacking department where they are in search of a new striker.
