Rio Ferdinand Confronts Critics Over Treatment of ‘World Class’ African Star in EPL

In this season, there has been significant disrespect towards Mohamed Salah, a standout African player in the English Premier League according to Rio Ferdinand, a Manchester United legend.

Ferdinand came to the defense of Salah, who has recently faced harsh criticism for his performances on the field.

Prior to Liverpool’s victory against Tottenham Hotspur with a score of 4-2, Salah had only managed to score twice in eight Premier League matches.

Both of Salah’s goals were from penalty kicks, and he was also involved in a confrontation with Liverpool’s manager, Jurgen Klopp, during their 2-2 draw against West Ham United.

Ferdinand expressed his disappointment at the lack of respect shown towards Salah despite his impressive performances for Liverpool this season.

During his appearance on Vibe with Five, Ferdinand shared his thoughts saying, “I feel the need to address the treatment of Mo Salah. I have observed numerous critical comments and discussions surrounding him.

“However, I firmly believe that there is no question about Mo Salah’s consistent world-class performance over the years.

“While he may have had a slight dip in form this season, his peak years at Liverpool were undeniably world-class.

“In fact, Real Madrid’s victory in the Champions League final was arguably because Salah had to be substituted due to injury. Until that moment, Liverpool had the upper hand. Everything changed when he had to leave the pitch.

“His statistics are simply outstanding, and I find it perplexing. It’s truly astounding how much disrespect Mo Salah has received.”
