Reacting to Ganduje’s Suspension: Bashir Ahmad Draws Parallel to Oshiomhole’s Case

Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), was recently suspended at the ward level, prompting a response from former presidential aide, Bashir Ahmad.

Ahmad highlighted that the tactics employed in the suspension of Ganduje resembled the approach used in the removal of former APC national chairman, Adams Oshiomhole.

The suspension of Ganduje, which took place in DawakinTofa local government area of Kano State, stemmed from allegations of corruption during his tenure as Kano State governor.

Haladu Gwanjo, the legal adviser of the ward, accused Ganduje of misconduct and misappropriation of public funds.

Asserting that if Ganduje’s suspension adhered to the party’s regulations, he may no longer be considered an APC member, according to Ahmad.

In a statement, Ahmad emphasized that Ganduje’s position as the national chairman would be undermined if his suspension is deemed valid.

He likened the current scenario to the strategies employed during Senator Adams Oshiomhole’s leadership, insinuating undisclosed maneuvers behind the scenes.

He mentioned, “If the widely reported suspension of the national chairman of our great party was conducted in accordance with due process, then he is no longer a party member, and constitutionally, he cannot serve as the national chairman since he is not a registered member of the party.”
