Alhaji Sani Nnaji Clarifies Enugu State’s Proposal for Produce City

In the midst of ongoing debates in Enugu State surrounding the proposed Produce City by the state government, Alhaji Sani Nnaji, a prominent state native, has dismissed concerns that it is a cover for implementing RUGA in the State.

Since the idea was introduced by the Enugu State government, it has been met with strong opposition from various groups and communities.

Noteworthy opponents include the International Society for Rule of Law, Intersociety, the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, and the Nsukka Zone Elders Forum, among others.

The Nsukka Zone Elders have specifically advised Governor Barr Peter Mbah against taking actions that could exacerbate the security situation in the state.

Speaking to reporters in Enugu over the weekend, Nnaji, who serves as the Chief Executive Officer of Ugwuanama Farms Ltd, rebuked individuals who spread misinformation on social media.

He labeled these rumormongers as blackmailers.

Nnaji clarified that the state government never made any mention of livestock or anything related to RUGA.

His statement read: “We have noticed various forms of misinformation, insinuations, and sometimes blackmail, notably on social media. Perhaps due to our religious background, some individuals are suggesting that our goal is to introduce RUGA in the state. I can confidently say that all these claims are baseless and mere attempts at blackmail and deceit.

“We have opted not to engage with certain individuals and groups on social media.

“Our focus is primarily on crop production. Those who are well-informed should understand that our objective is crop production.”

Nnaji emphasized the importance of supporting the state government in initiating large-scale agricultural operations for the overall benefit of all.
