President Buhari’s PA, Bashir Ahmad calls out Lola Omotayo-Okoye for asking about Abba Kyari’s whereabouts

Presidential Aide, Bashir Ahmad has called out Lola Omotayo-Okoye for inquiring about the whereabouts of Abba Kyari.

Lola Omotayo-Okoye, wife of singer Peter Okoye, questioned the lack of transparency regarding the location of President Buhari’s Chief of Staff, Abba Kyari, in a video shared on Instagram (read here). She highlighted the excessive secrecy surrounding his whereabouts.

Lola’s remarks come after Abba Kyari tested positive for COVID-19 and was transferred from Abuja to Lagos for treatment.

At a recent press briefing, the Lagos state Commissioner for Health, Professor Abayomi, stated that he has no information about Kyari’s whereabouts in the state.

The Minister of Health, Osagie Ehanire, also informed reporters that he is unable to disclose Kyari’s whereabouts, citing every patient’s right to privacy. This sparked rumors that the President’s aide was not in isolation.

In response, Lola directed a message to the FG in her video, expressing, “Information is key. Do not lie to us. Do not keep away information.”

Addressing Lola’s video on Twitter, Bashir Ahmad, the Personal Assistant on New Media to President Buhari wrote: “Though I really don’t know who this Lola is, but someone close to her should please tell her to leave Abba Kyari to recuperate in peace, he’s in Lagos and responding well to treatment. If it’s caring she should also use the same energy to ask the whereabouts of other #COVID19 patients.”
