Bodies of Coronavirus victims will not be released for burial- Lai Mohammed

Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed, has announced that the bodies of individuals who have tested positive for coronavirus (COVID-19) will not be released for burial to their families due to their contagious nature. He emphasized that these corpses will be handled by the Ministry of Health. Lai Mohammed made this declaration at a forum organized by the News Agency of Nigeria in Abuja. He cautioned that the virus is extremely dangerous and contagious, with no known cure, and poses a threat to both public health and the economy. He also acknowledged and commended Nigerians for adhering to the stay-at-home directives issued by their respective state governments to contain the spread of the virus.

Nigeria currently has 190 confirmed cases of COVID-19, with 2 reported fatalities and 20 individuals discharged from the Infectious Disease Hospital in Lagos.
