Seven individuals have been hacked and burnt to death in Hukke village in Plateau State, following an attack by gunmen suspected to be Fulani herdsmen. This incident occurred just hours after three persons were killed in Ancha community in the same local government area.

Mr. Lawrence Zongo, the spokesman for Miango Youth Development Association, confirmed the fresh killings on Thursday afternoon. He stated that more than 200 assailants attacked the village, killing seven people and setting ablaze over 23 houses before fleeing the community.

Among those killed were Izinpa Muntu, Madah Imeh, Jummai Geye, Gado Muntu, Mary Alhassa, Gado Ngulu, and Rigwe Muntu, as reported by the youth leader.

ASP Ubah Gabriel Ogaba, the spokesman for the Plateau State Police Command, revealed that the state Commissioner of Police, Mr. Isaac Akinmoyede, had visited the scene of the attack to extend condolences and urge the community to refrain from taking the law into their hands.

The senator representing Plateau North in the National Assembly, Istifanus Gyang, condemned the renewed killings in his constituency, emphasizing the need for security agencies to prioritize the safety of all citizens, both in urban and rural areas.
