A woman named Evelyn Chinwendu Ejike (nee Ogechukwu Osita) lost her life in a cooking gas explosion at her home in Abuja last week.
The details of the incident are still unclear, but it was rumored that the victim, who was pregnant, was cooking and using her phone when the gas exploded.
The woman sustained 90% burns on her body and succumbed to her injuries at the hospital where she was being treated.
Meanwhile, friends have expressed their grief on Facebook. One of her friends, Ujunwa Joy, wrote:
“I still can’t believe you are no more. RIP Ogechukwu Osita.”
