Police in Zamfara Nab Seven Suspects in Connection with Murder of Sheikh Abubakar Hassan Mada

Following the tragic death of Sheikh Abubakar Hassan Mada, Zamfara State Police Command has taken into custody and displayed seven individuals suspected to be involved in the crime.

The incident, which saw the killing of the Islamic cleric, occurred within Zamfara State.

The suspects were presented to the public by the State Commissioner of Police, CP Muhammad Dalijan, at the Command headquarters located in the state’s capital, Gusau.

CP Dalijan revealed that among those arrested was Kabiru, who allegedly participated in the destruction of a police operational vehicle and the assault on the home of the former Chairman of the National Union office Road Transport Workers, NURTW.

Additionally, “The law enforcement authorities have also taken into custody two individuals who were allegedly involved in supplying ammunition to Bashari, a notorious terrorist figure operating in Zamfara State, specifically in the Shinkafi and Kaura Namoda regions. The apprehended suspects were identified as Anas-Ruwa Tukur and Tijjani Aliyu,” added CP Dalijan.

He went on to mention that “Two suspects have purportedly engaged in the forgery of documents to unlawfully claim possession of 40 cows in Zamfara State.”

The police commissioner assured the public that the arrested suspects would be taken to a competent court for potential prosecution.
