Paul Scholes: Mistakes led to three of Real Madrid’s goals against Bayern Munich

In the recent semi-final clash between Real Madrid and Bayern Munich, former Manchester United midfielder Paul Scholes suggested that three out of the four goals scored by Real Madrid were a result of mistakes made by the opposition.

Following a thrilling second-leg match in which Madrid overcame Bayern Munich with a 2-1 victory after initially falling behind, Scholes shared his observations about the encounter.

The first leg ended in a 2-2 draw in Germany, with Vinicius Jr. scoring twice for the LaLiga side.

Despite going down to an early goal by Alphonso Davies, Madrid quickly turned the game around with Joselu netting two goals in quick succession, securing their spot in the final under the management of Carlo Ancelotti.

Scholes remarked, “When you analyze the two matches, it’s evident that three of Madrid’s goals were a direct result of mistakes. As a manager, it’s difficult to account for such errors.”

Reflecting on the tactical decisions during the game, Scholes added, “Although there were questions regarding the substitutions made, it’s important to remember that this is Real Madrid, a team that constantly proves their resilience and ability to turn games around.”
