Iran’s Admission of Unintentionally Shooting Down Ukrainian Airplane

The Iranian government has acknowledged that the Ukrainian airplane, which crashed on Wednesday, January 8, killing all 176 people onboard, was shot down "unintentionally."   In a statement broadcasted on state TV, the Middle Eastern country issued a formal apology to the families of the victims, including those of foreign nationals, and attributed the incident to "human error."   Iranian Foreign Minister Javad Zarif expressed, "A sad day. Fires razes over 400 shops in Anambra (photos)

Over 400 shops at the Old Motor Spare Parts Market, popularly known as Mgbuka Obosi in Idemili North Local Government Area of Anambra State, were ravaged by a fire in the early hours of Saturday, January 11. The cause of the fire is yet to be determined, but the Chairman of the Market, Mr. Samuel Ezeobodo, mentioned that market security officials attributed the fire incident to a leaking gas in one of the shops. Unemployed man in court for allegedly stealing 2 bottles of Holy Communion wine

A man who is unemployed appeared in court on charges of stealing two bottles of Holy Communion wine from a church in Mushin, Lagos. Faniyi Ajibola, 27, is accused of not only stealing the wine but also soaps and sachets of salt valued at N46,000. The incident is said to have occurred on September 24, 2019. According to Prosecution Counsel, Insp. Edet Akadu, the defendant unlawfully entered a Catholic church in Mushin and stole the items.
