Remembrance of Couple Allegedly Lost in Abule Ado Blast

Victor Nkemjika, a lawyer from Nigeria, expressed his grief on Twitter for a couple who are said to have lost their lives in the explosion that occurred in the Abule Ado area of Lagos state on Sunday, March 15th.   Close acquaintances of the couple revealed that the husband, who is now deceased, was an only child, while the woman, also deceased, was the only daughter of her parents. It was further disclosed that the deceased woman was a first-class graduate in accounting.    Take a look at the tweets below.

An explosion in the Abule Ado area of Lagos state has resulted in the tragic death of 17 individuals, including a couple and their three children, as well as the destruction of 50 houses. The incident occurred in the early hours of Sunday, March 15th. The Director General/CEO of LASEMA, Dr. Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu, confirmed the number of casualties and stated that the cause of the explosion is still unknown. Gas cylinders hit by a truck caused explosion in Abule Ado – NNPC

The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) has disclosed that the explosion in Abule Ado community in Lagos State today was caused by a truck striking gas cylinders in the area, according to a statement released by NNPC. The gas cylinders were stacked in a gas processing plant near the corporation's system 2B Pipeline Right of Way. Preliminary findings revealed that the impact of the explosion resulted in the collapse of nearby houses and damage to NNPC pipeline. Reports indicate that the Principal of Bethlehem Girls College, Rev. Sr Henrietta Alokha, was among the victims of the pipeline explosion in Abule Ado community, Lagos State today.    Rev. Sr Henrietta Alokha tragically lost her life while making efforts to rescue some students who were trapped in the boarding school.
