Operations by the Defence Headquarters Led to Neutralizing 121 Terrorists, Arresting 253, and Rescuing 244 Kidnapped Victims

The recent military operations across the country yielded significant results, with the Defence Headquarters announcing that troops neutralized 121 terrorists, apprehended 253 suspects, and successfully rescued 244 kidnapped victims.

Providing updates on the operations, Maj-Gen. Edward Buba, the Director of Defence Media Operations, revealed that the troops also recovered a substantial number of weapons and ammunition, including various rifles and locally fabricated guns.

In the North East region, the troops of Operation Hadin Kai eliminated 52 terrorists, captured 137 suspects, and rescued 78 hostages. Additionally, they recovered a notable amount of arms and ammunition.

Operations Safe Haven and Whirl Stroke in the North Central region resulted in the killing of 47 terrorists, the arrest of 17 individuals, and the rescue of four kidnap victims, along with the retrieval of a cache of arms.

In the North West, the troops of Operation Hadarin Daji succeeded in neutralizing 62 terrorists, detaining 12 others, and rescuing 162 kidnapped hostages, while also recovering a significant number of firearms and ammunition.

Air interdiction missions were carried out in various locations, resulting in the destruction of the terrorists’ hideouts and logistical bases in several areas.

Operations in the Niger Delta led to the recovery of stolen crude oil and the dismantling of numerous illegal refining sites, with several suspects apprehended and weapons seized.

In the South East, Operation UDO KA led to the arrest of suspected extremists, raiding of camps, and recovery of weapons and vehicles.

All recovered items, suspects, and rescued individuals have been handed over to the appropriate authorities for further action.
