Encouragement for Nigerians to Change Approach towards Local Government Elections: Representative Stresses (See PHOTOS)

Highlighted by a member of the House of Representatives, Adedeji Stanley Olajide, is the call for Nigerians to alter their perspective on local government elections.

Ongoing concern is expressed by Olajide over the low turnout of voters during local government polls.

He appeals to Nigerians to give as much significance to local government elections as they do to presidential, National Assembly, and state elections.

The lawmaker, who represents the Ibadan North West/Ibadan South West Federal Constituency at the National Assembly, shared his thoughts after casting his vote in the current Oyo State LG election.

In his view, citizens should value local government elections due to the proximity of local governments to the people.

“I am encouraging people to value local government elections in the nation.

“People should turn up just like they do during presidential, National Assembly, and state elections.

“Our populace often neglects local government elections. We ought to participate just like we do during general elections.

“This is your authority. By casting your vote, you have the right to demand development. It is your entitlement.”
