The NSHA Calls AEDC and NaEPA to Address Prolonged Power Outages and High Bills

Summoned by the Nasarawa State House of Assembly (NSHA), the Area Manager of the Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC), and the General Manager of the Nasarawa Electricity Power Agency (NaEPA) are required to appear before the House on April 30th, 2024.

The summon was prompted by numerous complaints regarding consistent power outages and exorbitant billing of customers throughout the state.

During the House proceedings, Solomon Akwashiki, who represents Lafia Central, raised the issue, leading to the Speaker of the House, Danladi Jatau, announcing the summon.

The intention behind this invitation is to receive clarifications on the ongoing issues related to power supply challenges and billing discrepancies that are impacting residents.

Jatau emphasized, “The House is seeking answers as to why there are frequent power cuts and instances of overbilling customers across the state.”
