Edo Witnesses Police Parade of 21 Criminal Suspects

Recently in Edo State, the Police Command showcased 21 suspects who were taken into custody for various offenses including armed robbery, cultism, attempted murder, unlawful possession of firearms, conspiracy, pipeline vandalism, house breaking, theft, possession of illicit drugs, and inciting communal conflicts.

The State Commissioner of Police, Funsho Adegboye, revealed that these suspects were apprehended within the past two weeks during a press event held at the State Police Command in Benin City.

Adegboye emphasized that the arrests were made possible through credible information provided by the command’s operatives stationed across the state.

Describing the apprehension as a significant crackdown on criminal activities, the Police Commissioner attributed this success to the cooperation of residents who shared actionable intelligence with the law enforcement agencies.

While commending the public for their support, he assured that the police force would continue to enhance security measures to create a safer living environment in the state.

Furthermore, he urged parents to caution their children, particularly university students, against falling into the hands of unscrupulous politicians.

Addressing the issue, Adegboye emphasized, “It is important for the community to advise their youths, especially those in higher institutions.”

He added, “We must discourage our youngsters from becoming pawns in the schemes of dishonest politicians.”

During the parade, the suspects who were presented by the command included individuals like Ovie Samuel, Stanley Itota, Felix Oputi, Kadiri Hassan, and Alex Akaeze, who were apprehended in possession of 1,080 kilograms of ICE (a hard drug) valued at N20 million.
