NFF president Gusau’s visit to injured Super Eagles stars in Europe

During his recent trip to Europe, Ibrahim Gusau, the President of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), paid a visit to the injured Super Eagles players William Troost-Ekong and Zaidu Sanusi.

Despite his injury, Troost-Ekong played a crucial role in helping the Super Eagles secure the second position in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations held in Cote d’Ivoire.

Following the tournament, the center-back underwent surgery and has since begun a partial return to training with PAOK Salonica in Greece, possibly aiming to make a comeback before the end of the season.

During his visit, Gusau had talks with Troost-Ekong regarding the upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying matches against South Africa and Benin Republic, emphasizing the importance of his participation.

Furthermore, Gusau traveled to Portugal to check on the recovery progress of Zaidu Sanusi, who sustained an injury while playing for Porto after his return from the AFCON duty.

It is worth mentioning that Gusau also made a similar visit to France last weekend to see another injured player, Moses Simon.
