Popular comedian and skit maker, Mr Macaroni, has expressed his disappointment towards singer Wizkid for indirectly insulting veteran producer and music executive, Don Jazzy.
According to reports from NewsNow, Wizkid made a comment aimed at Don Jazzy while responding to a shade thrown at him by Mavin artist, Ladipoe.
Wizkid confidently stated that he does not engage with artists signed under an influencer, implying Ladipoe’s dig at him.
He also retweeted posts insinuating that his reference to Don Jazzy as simply an influencer was belittling.
Responding through his social media handle, Mr Macaroni addressed the situation on Monday, emphasizing that Don Jazzy’s influence spans across music, content creation, films, and branding.
He criticized Wizkid’s choice of words, deeming it disrespectful towards Don Jazzy and his significant contributions to the Nigerian music scene.
Describing Don Jazzy as a true icon known for his generosity and support towards various entertainers regardless of their fame, Mr Macaroni hailed him as a selfless legend.
Sharing his thoughts, Mr Macaroni stated, “Don Jazzy is undeniably one of the most influential figures in African entertainment. His impact transcends different aspects such as music, content creation, films, and branding.”
He continued, “It would be insincere to ignore the disrespect inherent in referring to him as just an influencer, considering his immense contributions to the Nigerian music industry.”
Moving on, he praised Don Jazzy for his role in promoting artists beyond his record label, providing free advice and visibility to budding talents, and showcasing love to all, regardless of their stature. He also shared his personal experience of benefiting from Don Jazzy’s remarkable influence.
