The WASSCE is Scheduled to Begin on April 30


According to the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) Nigeria, the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) for school candidates is set to start on April 30, 2024, and conclude on June 24, 2024.

During a statement made on Monday at the WAEC Lagos Office, Dr. Amos Dangut, the Head of Nigeria Office, expressed that the council is prepared for the exam to take place.

The examination is planned to run for seven weeks and six days, as stated by Dr. Dangut: “I am excited to announce that WASSCE for School Candidates, 2024, will occur from Tuesday, April 30 to Monday, June 24, 2024, in Nigeria, spanning a period of seven weeks and six days. The exam will be held in four WAEC member countries, namely: Nigeria, Gambia, Sierra-Leone, and Liberia. We would like to inform candidates of the council’s readiness to conduct WASSCE.”

“We are fully prepared for the implementation of WASSCE for School Candidates in 2024 in Nigeria. The Council, in cooperation with the Federal Ministry of Education, State Ministries of Education, the Nigeria Police, other security agencies, and various stakeholders, fulfills its responsibility of conducting reliable examinations for Nigerian students and the public,” he added.

“We are deeply appreciative of the support and collaboration received from the Honourable Minister of Education, the Honourable Minister of State for Education, all State Ministries of Education, the Inspector-General of Police, and all our stakeholders, as we rely on their continued support,” Dangut acknowledged.
