Mexican President Urges United Nations for Increased Involvement in Middle East

Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador, the President of Mexico, has appealed to the United Nations to implement additional measures aimed at de-escalating tensions in the Middle East.

During his routine press briefing, Lopez Obrador also advised Israel to refrain from retaliating against the recent attack launched by Iran on Israeli territory.

“It’s essential to maintain the current status quo to prevent further escalation of the conflict,” remarked the president at the National Palace in Mexico City.

Emphasizing Mexico’s stance on conflicts, Lopez Obrador stressed the importance of promoting dialogue to achieve an end to the war rather than singling out any party for condemnation.

“The primary objective should be to secure a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip,” he emphasized.

Referencing a social media post made a week earlier, Lopez Obrador cautioned against the futility of war and highlighted the integral role of politics in averting violent conflicts.

He reiterated his appeal for a peaceful and diplomatic resolution to the ongoing conflict.
