March Allocation Disbursed by FCTA to Area Councils and Stakeholders

An amount totaling N6,316,621,045.37 billion has been disbursed by the Federal Capital Territory Administration among the six area councils in the FCT and other stakeholders as the statutory allocation for March 2024. This information was conveyed in a statement signed by Dr Mariya Mahmoud, the Special Adviser on Media to the FCT Minister of State.

The allocated sum reflects a 40% increase compared to the previous allocation of N3,938,092,102.92 billion in February 2024.

Dr. Mahmoud, who chaired the 188th Joint Accounts Allocation Committee meeting on Thursday, expressed satisfaction with the increased allocation and encouraged the Area Council authorities to use the funds for impactful projects.

“The funding provided to the area councils surpasses mere payment of staff salaries. It is crucial for the chairpersons to undertake projects that benefit the community to justify the resources allocated to the councils,” she emphasized.

Details of the allocation breakdown revealed that N3,814,043,951.50 billion was earmarked for distribution among the six area councils, while N2,502,577,093.87 billion was set aside for other stakeholders, resulting in the total allocation of N6,316,621,045.37 billion.

Specifically, the Abuja Municipal Area Council was slated to receive N796,985,326.39 million, Gwagwalada N606,666,131.20 million, and Kuje Area Council N635,903,823.41 million, among others.

Further disbursement to additional important stakeholders included N2,115,855,089.92 billion for Primary School Teachers, N226,478,989.57 million for Pension Funds, N52,394,108.75 million for Training Funds, and N107,849,405.63 million for Employer Pension Contribution, totaling N2,502,577,093.87 billion.
