Manchester United Midfielder Criticized by Jamie Carragher

Following Manchester United’s 4-0 loss to Crystal Palace, Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher did not hold back in his criticism of Casemiro, who was deployed as a makeshift center-back in the absence of Bruno Fernandes.

Casemiro, wearing the captain’s armband, had a nightmare performance and was directly involved in two of Palace’s goals.

During Monday Night Football, Carragher suggested that Casemiro should start thinking about retirement, advising him to acknowledge his declining form and explore options like a move to the MLS or Saudi league.

While acknowledging Casemiro’s past greatness as a midfielder and his significant role alongside players like Kroos and Modric, Carragher hinted that his days at the top level might be numbered.

According to Carragher, “I said at half-time that he had to bring Casemiro off.”

“I know he’s got kids on the bench but I think Casemiro, I am being deadly serious, should know himself tonight as an experienced player, that he should only have another three games at the top level, the next two league games and the cup final, and thinking I need to go the MLS or Saudi.”

He added, “I am being deadly serious. His agent or the people around him need to tell him it has to stop. We are watching one of the greats in modern times, played in one of the best midfielders in modern time – him holding Kross and Modric on either side, who could easily go up against the Barcelona midfield we all know and loved.”
