Lagos Police Arrests Man for Damaging Recently Reopened Third Mainland Bridge

A 46-year-old man has been taken into custody by the Lagos State Police Command for allegedly vandalizing the Third Mainland Bridge in Lagos, just 34 days after its reopening post-rehabilitation.

Confirming the arrest, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, the spokesperson for the command, provided this information to the News Agency of Nigeria in Lagos on Wednesday.

According to Hundeyin, the Lagos State Neighbourhood Safety Corps (LNSC) apprehended the suspect, who was reportedly caught removing the bridge’s road light indicators.

Hundeyin praised the LNSC officials for their swift action in arresting the suspect and handing him over to Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Adegoke Fayoade.

He mentioned, “The suspect is now in custody, and investigations are underway.”
