Man sentenced by court for cloning Rivers SSG’s Facebook account

A man has been convicted and handed a one-year prison sentence or community service by a Magistrate Court in Port Harcourt due to fraudulent activities.

P. Chidera, along with two others, faced trial for engaging in fraudulent actions by cloning Facebook accounts.

Chief Magistrate Rita Oguguo, delivering the verdict, found Chidera guilty of cloning the Facebook account belonging to Tammy Danagogo, the Secretary to the Rivers State Government, and exploiting it for fraudulent purposes.

It was determined by the magistrate that the prosecution effectively established the fraud allegations against the defendant.

Chidera’s sentencing includes one year in prison or the alternative of community service, involving tasks such as sweeping, grass cutting, and drainage cleaning along the path from the Rivers State Government House back gate at Jumbo Street, Old GRA Port Harcourt to the Rivers State University Teaching Hospital.

The community service, to be carried out four times a week for three months, was determined as part of the sentencing.
