In an unexpected turn of events, Uche Secondus, former National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, along with key members of the Presidential Campaign Council in Rivers State for the upcoming 2023 general elections, have announced their backing for President Bola Tinubu and the governor of the state, Siminalayi Fubara.
During a press conference in Port Harcourt on Thursday, Dr. Abiye Sekibo, the former Minister of Transportation and Director-General of PDP-PCC Rivers State, officially revealed this declaration.
Among the notable figures present at the briefing were Austin Opara, former Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives; Celestine Omehia; Tele Ikuru, the former Deputy Governor of the state; Senator Lee Maeba; and Dr. Gabriel Pidomson, former Secretary to the Rivers State Government, among others.
It’s worth noting that this council strongly upheld the candidacy of Atiku Abubakar, the PDP presidential candidate in the previous election cycle
