LP National Chairman, Mr Julius Abure, Secures Re-election

Following a unanimous affirmation of delegates, Mr Julius Abure, the current National Chairman of the Labour Party, LP, has been re-elected for a second term.

Despite opposition from the Nigerian Labour Congress, NLC, Abure emerged victorious during the party’s national convention held in Nnewi, Anambra State. The declaration of his win was made by Mr Ikechukwu Emetu, the Chairman of the National Convention and Deputy Governor of Abia State.

Amidst a strenuous relationship with the NLC leadership headed by Joe Ajaero, Abure has managed to maintain his position as the party chairman. The NLC has been vocal in calling for his resignation and the swift establishment of a caretaker transition committee to facilitate a proper and all-encompassing national convention for the party.
