Warning from Nigerian Navy: Stay away from N-Delta region, criminals told

Individuals engaged in criminal activities were cautioned by the Nigerian Navy Ship Delta over the weekend to keep away from their operational zones or face the repercussions.

Simultaneously, the Navy urged its personnel to avoid trouble and be cautious about their social media usage.

During the quarterly Route March that took place in Warri, the NNS Delta Commander, Commodore Abba Muhsin, alongside officers and ratings, issued the warning.

Commodore Muhsin emphasized, “Criminals have no place in the NNS Delta Areas of Operation. We urge them to leave peacefully and allow law-abiding citizens to conduct their legitimate activities.”

The activity commenced at 6:15 am from the Warri Naval Base, proceeding via Okere Road, Airport Road, connecting to the NPA expressway, and concluding at the Navy base.

“If you choose to remain within our jurisdiction, we will apprehend you. Thus, it is advisable to depart before facing legal consequences,” warned Commodore Muhsin.

Regarding the Route March, Muhsin clarified that the exercise signifies the Navy’s preparedness, physical fitness, and the authentic military commitment of its personnel.

He highlighted that the aim of the exercise was to bolster the conduct, endurance, and collective prowess of the personnel in fulfilling the responsibilities entrusted to them by the federal government.

“This Route March aligns with the fundamental values of the Nigerian Navy, emphasizing teamwork, professionalism, and integrity.

“The exercise fosters teamwork by uniting us and experiencing the challenges together.

“Both officers and ratings comprehend the essence of endurance, enduring long distances without water as part of our training,” he remarked.

Expressing gratitude for the civil-military rapport, Commodore Muhsin extended appreciation to the Delta populace, particularly the residents of Warri.

“The support from the men, women, and youth in the community was overwhelming. We stand united with them.

“Our bond with the residents is strong, and we pledge to extend our protective services to meet their needs,” he assured.

On a separate note, Muhsin reminded the personnel to exercise caution and uphold social media standards.

“Avoid making yourself vulnerable in any manner. Your social media usage should adhere to acceptable norms,” he advised.
